Guests are suggested to bring: An outfit they don’t mind getting messy with dye, Warm layers (in case Karl the Fog makes an appearance), a hair tie to keep long hair out of the way, picnic blanket

In this class, guests will learn to make their very own psychedelic tie-dyed shirts while enjoying the fresh air of Golden Gate Park. What better place to learn the art of tie-dyeing than in the birthplace of the 1960’s hippie movement! During the class, guests will learn about the history of tie-dye fashion and fun historical facts about the counterculture of San Francisco in the 60’s and 70’s. There will be background music inspired from the lively Haight Ashbury 1960’s music scene and a selection of beverages to enjoy. After dyeing t-shirts, guests will be provided a meal of locally catered food from Hippie Thai restaurant.

Optional: add on pints of the infamous Ben & Jerry’s ice cream form the local Haight & Ashbury location.

This class includes:

  • All tie-dye kit materials such as dye, t-shirts, and rubber bands
  • Meal provided by (options: local food from Hippie Thai, or BBQ complete with charcoal, grilling supplies, and meat/veggie options, or snacks from Gus’s Market)  
  • Coolers stocked with beverages
  • Speakers for background music
  • Tables and chairs
